Seriously, where would Team Exile be without it's drivers? No
where. In fact, we probably wouldn't exist, and if we did, we'd be a bunch of
posers. So here's the low down on what it takes to be an Exile Driver. It's not
that hard, you just really have to be into it.
Team Exile: Cali Division is looking for
fresh faces and cars to race for us at events.
This is non-paying. But what we
offer is an opportunity for you to have fun doing what you love if that
passion is racing, hang out with some really cool people, meet new people,
hang out at meets and go to races, and get some behind the wheel time. If you're
into the import scene, here's your chance to become a driver and a Team
Exile Member.
Some perks to being a Team Exile Model are:
1. Discounted and free parts from our sponsors and contributors.
2. We go out and hang out all the time - So you'll never be bored or alone. We
even celebrate holidays together but usually early so that we can spend it with
family too. Oh yeah, and we have monthly barbeques!!!!
3. A chance to race under a team banner.
4. You'll have our full support in your racing career.
Everyone on this crew is close knit and for some of us, Team Exile is the only
real family we have, so it's no trouble for us to volunteer our help,
encouragement, time, and whatever we have to help you on your path to do
what you love for a living.
Team Exile doesn't get paid to do what we do. The most we get are great
discounts from our sponsors to help us in making our cars track worthy. We pay
for admission fees, tech inspections, laps, and everything else out of our own
pockets. We devote our time, money, and lives to this team and we wear that
passion and loyalty to each other on our sleeves. With so much sacrificing, we
wouldn't have gotten to where we are now if it weren't for each other and the
support from our friends and family. So join us in our journey and let us be
what so many have been to us: Support.
Please DO NOT EMAIL applications. Please print one out and
hand it to a Recruiter. Recruiters can be reached at
http://www.myspace.com/teamexileit.
Please attach a current modification list with: Engine Code, Engine Mods,
Suspension Mods, Brake Mods,
Wheel and Tire Mods, Interior Mods,
Exterior Mods, and
ICE Mods. Also, attach a recent picture of your vehicle.
Minimum Member Requirements:
1. Must be 16 years of age.
2. All prospects must have a Driver’s License or Body License. A license under
suspension or has not been renewed is okay as long as the owner does not drive
to and from events or going on a Team Exile sponsored outing. I license that has
been revoked is up for debate among Pro Carbon. This will ensure that a prospect
member knows the rules of the road or of a race series.
3. Have Vehicle. A vehicle in working condition is preferable, but project cars
will be voted on based on their potential and/or current merits. No car shall be
overlooked because it is not ready, we are here to help build cars that have
potential, not to pass them by and miss out on a good opportunity and maybe even
a friendship.
4. Must be attending some sort of schooling and/or retain some sort of
employment. This will ensure that we have people with a sense of drive and
motivation.
5. Must have some sort of reliable income. Anything that brings in money can be
a source of income. Because a car can't be built on just hopes and dreams and
neither can a team.
6. Must be able to commit to the team. There's nothing more annoying than
someone that just calls you up to get parts but never participates in earning
them.
7. Must have a background and/or experience in dealing with basic automotive
mechanics. Knowledge of basic automotive principles is a requirement and a
member will be asked to demonstrate their knowledge in the following categories:
a. Basic Automotive Principles
b. Basic Maintenance
c. Basic Aftermarket Maintenance
A member must have a basic automotive background because there's nothing worse
than a member with a flat sitting on the side of the road with a Team Exile
Decal looking like they're up shits creek without a paddle.
8. All members must be able to perform basic OEM maintenance on their vehicle,
but will not be required to perform such tasks. This will make sure that in the
case of an emergency, a member will be able to do these tasks to maybe save
their car.
9. All members will be required to perform basic maintenance on aftermarket
parts on their vehicle on a regular basis. If member does not know how,
depending on the skill level required, that member will be either taught how to
maintain the part or referred to their CO’s for proper assessment. Most
automotive shops do not have the equipment and/or experience to service a lot of
aftermarket parts and members will have to do these tasks themselves.
10. Know your car and the parts in it – members that do not will be referred to
the Council to be dealt with accordingly. Every part was chosen for a reason,
every car must be chosen for a reason. You can't put a D16Z6 Header on a
4AGE.
Vehicle Requirements:
1. Must be year 1985 or higher.
2. Must have a minimum of 250whp or three (3) performance modifications.
3. Any member that changes vehicles must have that vehicle have all required
maintenance done and have a minimum of three (3) performance modifications
despite whp rating within the first 3 months of ownership.
Be ready for:
- An Interview
- A Basic Automotive Knowledge Test
- Hazing and/or Auditioning
- Having a probationary period
- Voting you into Active Status
- $60 one-time membership fee
- $5 monthly dues
